The hottest new beer styles is the India Black Ale, Black IPA, Cascadian Dark Ale, or whatever cool name people are coming up with these days.  When the hop harvest was coming in this year, the brewers at Black Diamond wanted to experiment with this new beer style.  the hops for this beer were obtained from a farm in Clear Lake, CA and grown organically.  They were picked on Saturday and Sunday and the beer was produced on Monday.  Talk about straight from the field.  the beer itself pours dark brown with ruby highlights.  Grassy Flavors from the undried hops blend with subtle roastiness and richness from de-bittered black and chocolate malts.  The beer lingers with some fruit and caramel flavors on the palate but finishes dry and hoppy.
